SUGGESTED ITINERARY

WHAT, WHERE & WHEN

DAY 1:

Your trip begins on arrival to Whitehorse. A short 20 minute transfer is included taking you to the peaceful Northern Lights Resort and Spa. This relaxing oasis is located in quiet countryside surrounded by pine forests and mountains. Built from Douglas Fir in a European style and run by German-Canadian hosts, the lodge offers a spacious room for relaxing, panoramic views of the Yukon River and mountain range, as well as operating as a spectacular dining room.

The cosy chalet rooms are all fitted with large ensuite bathrooms that come with fine linens, spa quality towels and free wifi. The spa and wellness centre is located a short walk from the chalets in the main lodge. Here you’ll have the chance to relax in the Finnish sauna, whirlpool or opt for a massage. Enjoy the view of the magnificent Northern Lights from in front of a roaring log fire, from the privacy of your private chalet deck or the surrounding area offering unobstructed views.

In the evening, enjoy a three course family dining experience with other guests and future friends, sampling local products and cuisine. After this relax in the atmosphere, view the night sky from the outdoor hot tub or spark up long talks with new friends.

DAY 2:

Wake up to a healthy European-style breakfast of fruits, cereals, jams, yoghurts and freshly baked pastries. Today is your day to choose how active or relaxed you want to be. Opt to sit in front of the fireplace and relax in the spa. Or head out into the wilderness snowshoeing or plan a day of activities, including adventurous snowmobiling trips or dog sledding.

After a heart warming three course dinner with friends, another night of Northern Light spotting awaits you! Make the most of this by signing up to the optional Aurora photography workshop learning how to get the most out of low light photography. The 60 minute course begins in the afternoon focusing on how to set the correct composition, aperture, exposure and all the other fine details. Once the stars are out it’s time to put your new skills into practice, capturing the Aurora, Milky Way, stars and planets. The next morning you will review your shots in the lightroom with training on how to create the best image.

DAY 3:

Have a lazy morning after a late night of stargazing before heading out into the snow for adventure activities or simply relax in the hot tub with a good book.

A guided 4 hours scenic Southern Lakes Tour is included in your trip. The tour is a great opportunity to stretch your legs and see the reasons why Yukon is called the ‘Larger than Life’ territory. The scenic drive takes you through Yukon’s diverse mountain countryside, Emerald Lake, Miles canyon, White Pass Railway and the world's smallest desert, Carcoss desert, which measure only one square mile.

This evening you’ll get another chance to view the Northern Lights with more campfires, roasted marshmallows and warm drinks.

DAY 4:

After a nourishing breakfast, this morning is spent at your leisure. Optional day tours can be booked in advance or speak to your hosts about life in the Yukon.

Your trip also includes a 30 minute long back and neck massage, helping you relax after a few days of activities and late nights.

Take in your last night at the lodge with another hearty three course meal, followed by another late night spotting the Northern Lights.

DAY 5:
