Reindeer day with Snowmobile
Driving in pairs, you head out on snowmobiles to the local Reindeer farm where you learn all about local culture and history of the Sami people. You will feed the reindeer, try your hand with a lasso and sit back on a short reindeer sleigh ride through the snow-clad forest. Lunch is included during the trip.

Husky Safari
A visit to Finnish Lapland isn’t complete unless you’ve experienced the most exciting of activities, driving your own team of huskies. You will transfer to the local kennels and meet the eagerly waiting dogs. Their excitement is infectious, yapping with anticipation of what’s about to happen. Once off, the yapping stops, the animals falling silent as they run and run, doing what they love best. One guest will mush the team, the other will sit in the sleigh, swapping drivers along the trail.

Gentle Snowshoeing
Strap on the snowshoes and head out for a gentle walk in the silent wilderness. During the trip the guide will share stories and information about the local nature and animals, keeping a look-out for any signs of tracks along the way. This is the perfect chance to explore the surroundings in peace and tranquility.

Days 2-4

Cross-Country Skiing
In days gone by, cross-country skiing was the most popular method of transportation in the Arctic regions and there is no better way to explore the snowy surroundings. The guide will show you the technique before heading out on the trails and taking a loop of the area, stopping to take pictures, listening to stories and enjoying hot drinks on the way.

Aurora Camp
Sitting comfortably in a sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile, you have the chance to enjoy the amazing surroundings of Muotka, and look overhead for any signs of the aurora. The journey takes you to a secluded camp where there is a rustic hut with open fire to keep you warm on a wintry evening of Aurora watching. With the guide serving hot drinks and being away from any light pollution, this makes the perfect evening for viewing the magical northern lights.

Aurora Snowmobiling
On this evening snowmobile tour you head out in search of clear skies in the hope of seeing the northern lights. The weather conditions will determine the driving distance, stopping on route to take pictures and marvel at the dancing lights overhead. A stop is made to warm up around a campfire, enjoying hot drinks and each other’s company.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Ivalo airport for your journey home.

It is also possible to tailor-make your own personal trip. For example, why not upgrade to an Aurora Cabin on the first or last night of your trip for optimum aurora viewing potential.
