Aurora Safari Camp

Wilderness Arctic Glamping

The camp is nestled along the Råne River, next to Lake Degerselet which freezes over in winter, giving the platform for uninterrupted views of the night sky. The Aurora Safari Camp was the inspiration of spending time in the Safari Camps of Kenya. The owner and your host Jonas Gejke, who along with his wife Naila took over the business in 2022, developing the camp into a modern-day luxurious glamping site and offers a unique experience for guests.

Sleep Well

At the camp there are three heated Tipi Cabins, each furnished in Scandinavian style to ensure that guests have a cosy and comfortable stay. The cabins feature a north-facing glass verandah, providing stunning views of the arctic scenery, and the aurora overhead. Inside there are pellet burners to keep the cabins warm, and each has an en-suite bathroom with incineration toilet and wash basin. The cabins can accommodate up to 3 or 4 beds. There are also two stylish Lapland Cone rooms with a glass roof and panoramic windows facing north. Each room has en-suite bathroom facilities and can be either a double or twin room.

Eat Well

The camp has a separate lounge and dining area with comfortable seating and fireplace to relax by. There is also a small bar and kitchen where the delicious meals are created. All meals and drinks are included in your stay, including a selection of wine, beer and spirits.

Play Well

If you have time there is a full range of winter activities which can be pre-booked, but as guests of the camp you have full use of fat bikes, kicksleds, snowshoes and nordic skis. Guides will be at hand to help guests with the equipment and if needed, accompany them on the activities.

Be Well

One of the unique features of the camp is the sauna and shower facilities. In the winter, the floating sauna becomes part of the frozen lake, with a small ice plunge pool available for guests to take a refreshing dip after their sauna session. There is also a new sauna cabin in the forest, near the Tipi cabins. These are the designated areas for guests to have their showers and use the traditional wood-fired sauna. Guests will have a private timeslot to use these facilities, ensuring a comfortable experience.
