Luxurious Glass Cabin Hideaway

Situated 28km north of Tromsø, ÆRA is a new and exciting northern lights resort offering modern and comfortable cabin accommodation overlooking the fjord. With only 12 cabins in total, it provides an intimate and personal stay, offering a rustic luxury feel throughout the resort and with very little light pollution is a fantastic place for experiencing the northern lights.

Sleep Well

There are three cabin types to choose from, all stylish in design with a double bed, private bathroom and kitchenette. The smaller Aurora Glass Cabins have a picture window, ideal for gazing at the natural beauty outside, the larger Panoramic Glass Lodge has floor to ceiling and part-roof covered by glass, perfect for seeking the aurora and the Aurora Cabin has either 1 or 2 bedrooms.

Eat Well

The food concept is simple but tasty, offering an evening meal of a traditional rustic stew with meat, fish or vegetables, either served in the Sami-style lavvo tent with fire place and a cosy atmosphere, or served in your cabin for a private experience. Breakfast is included in your stay, but the lunch selection of pancakes with a choice of fillings is optional and can be pre-booked if you wish. There is also the option of booking a King Crab dining experience, where you can see the crabs being caught and prepared, to finding their way onto the dinner plate

Play Well

Guests have the use of snowshoes included with the cabins, so you can explore the surrounding snowy landscape at your leisure. It is also possible to pre-book a Reindeer Experience at a nearby farm where you can go reindeer sledding, get the opportunity to get close and feed these majestic animals and learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Sami people. There is also the possibility of horseback riding tours in the beautiful landscape in Skittenelv.

Of course we need to mention the aurora borealis, this natural phenomenon that is quite simply breathtaking. The resort offers an Aurora alarm so you don’t miss any sightings.
