Meraftahorn Hike
A Local Summit with Expansive Fjord Views
Suitable for all levels | Approx. 1 hr from Mivo / 40 min from trailhead (each way) | Elevation gain: 692 m
This short yet scenic hike begins right from your cabin or from the nearby trailhead at Ringstadsetra. The path winds through forest, marsh, and open mountain terrain, revealing ever-changing views of the fjord below. Near the summit, a quiet bench beneath a tree offers the perfect spot for a break or picnic while taking in the panorama. You can return the same way or extend the route towards the Strandafjellet gondola for a longer loop walk.

Lievarden Hike
A Ridge Walk with Sweeping Fjord and Mountain Vistas
Moderate | 20 min drive from Mivo | Approx. 2–2.5 hrs round trip | Distance: 5 km | Elevation gain: 521 m
This family-friendly yet rewarding hike follows a scenic ridge overlooking Storfjorden, Sunnylvsfjorden, and the Sunnmøre Alps. Starting from the trailhead near a small farm, the well-marked path climbs steadily through open terrain with uninterrupted views on both sides. Near the summit of Lievarden (799 m), the landscape opens dramatically, offering some of the best vistas in the region. Those seeking a greater challenge can continue to the neighbouring peak, Liahornet (1,035 m).
