IISAKKI GLASS VILLAGE
STARGAZING LAPLAND RESORT
Situated by Lake Rukajärvi, just 6 km from the centre of Ruka resort is Iisakki Village. It offers complete tranquillity in a beautiful wilderness setting. The village comprises different accommodation types, suitable for couples, families and larger parties and has two restaurants on site, serving traditional cuisine using local fresh ingredients. It is possible to pre-book winter activities which operate from the village, as well as making use of the local ski bus running between the village and Ruka ski centre.
Sleep Well
Iisakki Village has something for everyone. There are rustic style cabins, semi-detached chalets, small apartments, cosy double rooms in a Wilderness Hotel, double rooms in a rustic Guesthouse and the new Glass Villas where you can observe the surrounding nature and magical Northern Lights from the large glass roof window. Please ask for more details on the individual options.
Eat Well
We have included half-board for all guests staying at Iisakki Village. The buffet style breakfast is served at Iisakki restaurant located in the middle of the village and easily accessible. Evening meals are served in Kontioluola Restaurant, located approximately 600m from the village centre.
Play Well
The local Ski-bus stops at the Village 2-3 times per day, taking you to and from Ruka resort for a charge of approximately 5€ per person each way. With many ski slopes accessible from Ruka, it's a great option for those waiting to ski, yet located in a wilderness setting away from the busy ski resort. For excitement away from the ski slopes, winter in Finnish Lapland is full of new adventures. There are many exciting activities available to pre-book such as snowmobiling tours, Husky Safaris, Snowshoe treks, ice fishing, Nordic skiing, fat-biking, visiting a reindeer farm and northern light excursions.
Be Well
For many, a trip to Finland isn’t complete unless you’ve tried the traditional Finnish sauna. Iisakki Village boasts the Authentic Finnish Sauna Experience certificate and has been chosen as Visit Finland’s Top25 star products for wellbeing. So there is no better place to relax and unwind than at Iisakki’s Lakeside sauna. This experience is guided by a local sauna guide who will tell you about the sauna culture in Finland and will show you what to do. You can also take a dip in the ice hole!
