Winter Northern Lights Holiday in Finnish Lapland at Kakslauttanen Resort

The forests, fells and lakes of Northern Finland are the perfect setting for your winter holiday. At 68° North, Finnish Lapland offers a climate that sees seven months of snowfall and over 200 nights of Northern Lights activity. You’ll fall in love with the Finnish winter and the special ‘blue moment’ when twilight descends on the landscapes. Here reindeer roam across the fells and husky dogs are eager to take you on a trip into the wilderness. Stay in log cabin and glass igloo accommodation at Kaksaluttanen Resort. This holiday will be tailored to suit your requirements.

DAY 1:

Arrive in Finnish Lapland travelling to Ivalo in the North of Finland. Transfer to your accommodation and settle in to your cosy cabin which includes a fireplace and sauna and surrounded by deep untouched snow. As you unwind in the cabin you might see the Aurora dance from your window. You’ll have half board included in your holiday and an exciting programme of winter activities according to your wishes. Our holidays to Kakslauttanen are completely flexible meaning that you can travel when you prefer and choose your own combination of excursions, accommodation and activities.

Staying at: Kakslauttanen Resort

DAY 2:

We recommend a dog-sled excursion today in the wilderness followed by an exciting hunt for the Aurora by snow mobile. All activities are not included in the holiday price and we will provide a detailed quote and itinerary based on your wishes.

DAY 3:

Another day for outdoor adventures or simple relaxation time! Why not visit a reindeer farm by day and continue your search for the Northern Lights by horse sleigh in the evening. We’ll be happy to help you to tailor your stay at Kakslauttanen.

DAY 4:

Transfer to Ivalo Airport and return. Alternatively, why not add extra nights either in the cabin or extend your stay with the final night in a glass igloo. The glass igloos provide a stunning panoramic view of the night sky. If you’re lucky you’ll watch the dance of the Aurora from your bed or simply enjoy dense star-filled skies.

Winter Northern Lights Holiday in Finnish Lapland at Kakslauttanen Resort

Just returning from the most wonderful 3 day trip to Finland for my husbands 40th. A really amazing location, great activities and amazing weather which was perfect for a winter holiday in the snow. Can’t thank the team at Magnetic North enough and a special thanks to Matt who was able to book the perfect holiday for us by listening to what we were looking for and putting up with my emails and questions throughout the booking process. What set them apart for us was matts ability to talk about the accommodation and hotel based on his experience as he had visited there which meant that he was knowledgable and more importantly passionate. We had such a great time we’re planning on coming back with the kids and will without question book with magnetic north again. Thanks to the team at magnetic north ????

Had an amazing time. Was a little concerned after reading some of the trip advisor reviews regarding food and service but both were excellent. All the trip times did change time but luckily we checked each day as to what was going when. Definitely let other clients know that changes are likely and to check regularly!! Pre-ordered a bottled of prosecco which wasn't the cheapest and got a bottle of sparkling blue nun which wasn't the best but only a mild annoyance. Overall lovely trip - and one which I would definitely recommend to others.

Hello My friend and I had an amazing time in Lapland and the resort was great just what expected. The activities were all great but the horse riding in the snow was the best so want to do it again! My only tiny tiny complaint was I originally booked this holiday with my boyfriend who is no longer! so my girlfriend took his place but all the bookings, hotel and activities were still in his name so on the board every day we saw slightly irritating :-) but we still had the best time such a beautiful country will definitely be going back may be next summer so I can see the the husky puppies. Many thanks for all your help. Kindest regards Julie
