SUGGESTED ITINERARY

WHAT, WHERE & WHEN

DAY 1:

Fly to Svolvaer via Olso, Bodo or Tromso. Alternatively arriving at the Lofoten Islands by Hurtigruten Coastal Steamer is a magical way to experience the tall, craggy physique of the islands against the sky.

The team at Magnetic North will advise you about all the options available for your travel dates. You will be met and transferred to your sea-view rorbu cabin or suite.

Staying at: Svinoya Rorbuer

DAY 2:

Our holidays to Lofoten are completely flexible meaning that you can travel when you prefer and choose your own combination of excursions and activities.

We recommend a Lofoten Panorama Tour by day that visits local attractions and small fishing villages and gives a fantastic introduction to the picturesque nature of the Lofoten Islands. In the evening why not join a search for the Northern Lights after dark.

Activities are not included in the holiday price. We will provide a detailed quote and itinerary based on your wishes.

DAY 3:

Another day for outdoor adventures! Why not join a Nature Safari or a Sea Eagle Safari, or perhaps a Snow Shoe Hike or Winter Sea Kayaking is more your thing. Of course, you may prefer to simply relax and enjoy the stunning views or wander through Svolvaer exploring its selection of shops, museums and galleries. We’ll provide you with a list of recommended places to visit and eat during your stay.

DAY 4:

Today enjoy the last of your time in the Lofoten Islands before making your onward journey, either by flight or by Hurtigruten Coastal Steamer. We suggest combining your trip with the city of Tromso which is just an overnight voyage away on the northbound Hurtigruten ship.

Alternatively if you would like to continue to explore the archipelago and visit the northerly islands of the Vesteralan, we can arrange car hire and accommodation in Andenes or one of the picturesque sea-facing villages. In the winter months from November to March, it is possible to join a winter whale watching safari from Andenes and we can arrange this for you. Just get in touch with us to find out more.

From £475 per person (excluding flights) based on two guests travelling together. Group prices and accommodation upgrades are available.
