Wild Exodus Ontario

Glamping Holiday in Ontario

Sleep under canvas in an ancient Boreal forest in Ontario’s wilderness country. Witness star-infused night skies and explore rivers, lakes and waterfalls. In true pioneer style your accommodation will be a comfortable 'prospector' tent complete with queen bed, furniture and room service, as well as gourmet food options from local produce. Your holiday includes hiking with a trapper, exploring ancient canoe routes, cruising Kenogamissi Lake and some meals in the wild. This holiday can be customized for group size, age, interests and season.

DAY 1:

Arrival by car or transfer from Timmins Airport during the afternoon to Wawaitin. You'll meet your hosts and enjoy welcome refreshments before a briefing on wilderness and water safety. Your evening meal will be around the great bonfire before settling down into your prospector tent ready for a night under the stars. You'll be comfortable and warm in your double bed.

DAY 2:

Enjoy a hearty breakfast which may comprise buttermilk waffles with fruit, or home-baked breads. Today you will enjoy adventures in the surrounding wilderness. Your personal wilderness guide will take you to a nearby ancient burial ground of native first peoples, and will continue on to visit High Falls. Experience a leisurely downstream canoe paddle to Dalton Road bridge with plenty of great scenery and wildlife along the way. Finally, your guide will bring you back to Wawaitin Holiday Park for another evening of great eating and relaxed atmosphere.

DAY 3:

Today will be tailored around your interests. Your wilderness guides are on hand to demonstrate local skills and traditions, such as learning how to use a cross bow or forage for wild mushrooms. They'll even encourage you to practice the 'call of the wild' and learn to howl as wolves or call out a moose.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, a quick paddle and swim in Kenogamissi Lake will get your day started. Today is all about relaxation and great local eats. The late afternoon will bring some pontoon cruising on Kenogamissi Lake and visiting a trapline cabin to learn how the beaver and a company helped create Canada. End the night with another round-up around a bonfire.

DAY 5:

After a farewell breakfast, it is time to depart. If you wish, we can extend your stay with extra nights, or suggest an onward self-drive holiday in Ontario. Get in touch with our team to find out how we can customise your trip.
