SUGGESTED ITINERARY

WHAT, WHERE & WHEN

Day 1

Welcome to the Arctic North of Finland, where dark skies, deep snow, and tranquil nature offer a stunning backdrop for the Aurora Borealis. With over 200 sightings a year seeing Northern Lights can be as simple as stepping out of the front door of your cabin. Spend the next three nights at the fabulous Wilderness Hotel Inari in an Arctic Chalet complete with panoramic window and private sauna.

Day 2

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, before it is time to head outdoors to explore the snowbound wilderness. Spend the morning travelling across frozen lakes and over forest trails on a thrilling snowmobile introduction. Your guide will provide you with full instructions on how to drive this modern means of winter transport.

This afternoon you’ll meet the traditional workhorse of the Arctic, the reindeer, on a visit to a local reindeer farm. Get up close to these gentle creatures and learn about the life of a reindeer herder.

As darkness settles, enjoy a snowmobile sleigh ride to a secluded Aurora Camp. Warm yourself by the open fire, enjoy some hot drinks and watch for the Northern Lights across the star filled sky.

Day 3

Make new friends as you head out on a husky safari. These excitable dogs love to run but they love all of the fuss afterwards, just as much. There is something truly special about sliding through the dramatic scenery in tranquil silence, save for the padding of small feet on the snow.

End the day at a faster pace as you head out once more in search of the Northern Lights, this time by snowmobile. You'll drive across the frozen lake in pairs with the chance to switch places. A hot drink will be offered to warm you through as you await any appearances of the Northern Lights.

Day 4

As the sun slowly rises on the horizon for a few hours of daylight, it is time to say goodbye to your wilderness home and all of the adventures that you have experienced. This doesn’t have to be the end of the road, let one of our Arctic specialists create your perfect trip with even more nights in the land of the Aurora.
