Day 1:

On arrival at Ivalo Airport you will be met and transferred to Wilderness Hotel Inari. Upon checking in at reception you will receive the schedule of events for your stay and depending on the arrival time also the warm winter clothing. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner at Restaurant Ukko and get settled into your accommodation.

Days 2-4:

The next three days are spent enjoying the snowy wilderness by taking part in the following activities. All safety information and instructions on how to use the equipment are provided by an English speaking guide.

Snowmobile Adventure (4 hours)
After a short lesson on these impressive machines, you drive in pairs heading out on the trails snowmobiling through the white winter scenery surrounding Inari. During the trip stops are made to swap drivers and a lunch stop to warm up around an open fire.

Reindeer Farm Visit (2 hours)
You will transfer to a Reindeer farm nearby, where you will meet a Sami Reindeer herder and learn all about the life, history and culture of the Sami people. There will be a chance to meet the reindeer up close, even helping to feed them before returning to the hotel.

Husky Safari (3 hours)
A husky safari trip is definitely top of most peoples list of activities when visiting the Arctic. You are transferred to the local kennels and shown how to handle your own dog sled - the excitable dogs yapping with anticipation before you even start. Once you set off, the barking stops and the serene silence takes over as the dogs do what they love best, to run and run on the snowy trails. The sleds are based on two people sharing, one mushing and the other as a passenger, swapping places along the way.
