SECLUDED WILDERNESS RESORT
Restful silence meets active exploration at Granö Beckasin on the beautiful Umea river in Swedish Lapland. Surrounded by verdant forest and pristine waters, this eco-friendly lodge offers a unique and serene escape into Northern nature.
Guests can choose to stay in six luxury "birds nests" perched high up in the pines on the river, or in secluded hotel cottages in the forest above the river. Another option is the new ecohotel of 12 rooms, situated on a ridge overlooking the river. All rooms are ensuite.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the spacious, bright dining room in the main lodge, from a menu of local, organic dishes. Beautifully presented meals are homemade and use local ingredients such as elk.
Go dog sledding, midnight paddling, timber rafting, moose and reindeer spotting, hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and skiing, or take a guided tour of the surrounding wilderness and learn about trees, birds, wildlife, and traditional medicine.
Relax in the wood-fired hot tub and sauna on the riverside beach, then cool off with a dip in the river. In your room, enjoy a Swedish massage from a certified masseur, or arrange for a professional yoga class on site with views of the river.
