Before departing town, your guide will provide a safety briefing, including instructions on operating a snowmobile. Once prepared, you'll leave Longyearbyen and head east into the Arctic wilderness. About 30 kilometres outside town, you'll reach Juva Cabin, the cosy base for the night. After dropping off your luggage, food, and equipment, you continue north to explore the dramatic mountainous landscapes between Adventfjorden and Tempelfjorden. The day’s highlight is Fredheim, located along the shores of Tempelfjorden. Here, you’ll visit Villa Fredheim, the historic cabin of Hilmar Nøis, a legendary trapper who overwintered in Svalbard an astonishing 38 times. Your guide will share fascinating stories about his life and the region’s rich history, bringing this iconic site to life.

 

After a full day of Arctic exploration, you return to the warm and inviting Juva Cabin. A delicious meal and refreshing drinks await, and you’ll have the chance to unwind in the outdoor sauna. This tube-shaped sauna, with its circular glass window, offers a unique way to soak in the tranquillity of the dark blue night and the snow-covered mountains beyond.
