Set out on an unforgettable snowmobile journey through the pristine winter wilderness, guided by a local expert. After a 45-minute drive from the Icehotel, switch to environmentally friendly snowmobiles and ride through ancient forests and reindeer grazing lands, where moose, reindeer, hares, and birds are often spotted. Along the way, your guide will share stories of the region’s past and the traditions of modern reindeer herders. As the polar twilight sets in, pause for a late lunch featuring seasonal Arctic ingredients before returning to the Icehotel.
Back at the Icehotel you can check into your warm room accommodation and take some time to rest before your epic dinner.
In the evening, step into The Veranda, an intimate dining space designed to feel like a gathering among friends. Here, a carefully curated 12-course tasting menu takes you on a journey through Arctic flavours, crafted using traditional techniques such as smoking, drying, and pickling. Each dish showcases the region’s seasonal ingredients, offering an authentic and warming end to your Arctic day. A perfectly paired wine selection enhances the experience, making this an evening to remember.
After a busy couple of days you have time to relax at the hotel. Perhaps go for a walk along the frozen river or through the village to visit the small church. Even participate in another optional activity such as Ice Sculpting or Cross-Country Skiing.
One of the highlights of visiting the Arctic region is to experience one of the dog sledding trips available. This afternoon you join The Ultimate Dog Sledding Adventure - driving your very own team of huskies combined with sleeping in a wilderness cabin. The tour begins at the kennels where you meet the excitable huskies, eagerly waiting to get started. After an introduction to the equipment and safety information you will head out on the snowy trails through the wilderness as night falls, giving you the opportunity to view the magical Northern Lights in the clear starry skies. The night is spent in a cozy wilderness cabin. Here you can warm up in the wood-fired sauna, and later enjoy a rustic dinner before bed.
Drive your own team of huskies through the snowy wilderness and spend the night in a secluded cabin. The adventure begins at the kennels with an introduction to the dogs and sledding equipment. Once on the trail, enjoy the peaceful sound of paws on snow as you glide deeper into the forest.
At the wilderness camp, warm up in a wood-fired sauna before a three-course dinner. With luck, the northern lights will appear overhead. After a cozy night in a shared cabin, wake to breakfast, harness the dogs, and sled back to the Husky Homestead before returning to the Icehotel by 11 am.
In the morning you are served breakfast before returning back to the ICEHOTEL. For your comfort we have included the room accommodation for that night so there is no need to check-out and in again, and you have the room to catch up on some rest when you return. In the afternoon, warm up with a private Sauna ritual - relax using local soaps and traditions, take a dip in the cold Torne river and take a hot soak in the outdoor bathtub.
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kiruna Airport for the journey home.
