Join a select few discerning adventurers on this unique six day small group tour discovering the pristine wilderness and dramatic landscapes around Nuuk, Greenland’s capital.

The expedition begins in the vibrant city of Nuuk, where modern life and rich history merge with traditional inuit culture, offering an opportunity to dive into Greenland’s past and its evolving future.

Spend in total two nights in Nuuk and three nights at the secluded Kiattua Camp in Greenland’s breathtaking wilderness, an award-winning resort surrounded by majestic mountains, glaciers and sparkling fjords, allowing you time to embrace the Arctic in all its magnificence.

ITINERARY

On arrival at Nuuk International airport, you will be met and transferred to the Hotel Hans Egede, your accommodation on the first and last night of the tour. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Nuuk independently. There are several self-guided options you can do at your own pace - perhaps visit the National Museum to see the Qilakitsoq mummies or stroll through the Colonial Harbour for a glimpse into Nuuk’s rich historical past. Take time to enjoy the local cafes and restaurants. We can suggest lunch at Katuaq Cultural Center, or enjoy a traditional meal with local flavours at Cafetuaq. And for something special in the evening, try dining at Sarfalik, a celebrated restaurant showcasing Greenland’s seasonal offerings. Please note, dinner reservations are recommended.

Hotel Hans Egede

The hotel benefits from a great location in the centre of Nuuk, perfect for exploring the town on foot. It is classed as a 4-star accommodation and facilities include three restaurants, bar, fitness centre, 24-hour reception, room service and free WiFi throughout. All rooms at the hotel have a private bathroom with shower, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, television and tea and coffee making facilities.

Today you will meet the guide who will share stories about Greenland, setting the tone for your journey ahead. Together, you’ll explore Nuuk, visiting local craft shops and soaking in the Arctic charm. Lunch is included at Tapas-imut, where you’ll get a taste of Greenlandic inspired tapas, blending fresh local ingredients with a touch of modern flair.

Later, you’ll board an open-air zodiac for a 90 minute scenic boat trip, taking you across glistening fjords, with towering cliffs welcoming you to Camp Kiattua, the site of an ancient Inuit summer hunting ground. The camp is a remote haven set deep in the wilderness, set between mountains and overlooking the icy waters of Nuup Kangerlua fjord.  End the day with dinner crafted to reflect the flavours of Greenland and sharing stories around an open-fire under the Arctic night sky.

Stunning scenery greets you when you wake up and emerge from the cosy tents, and when the realisation of where you are takes hold, enjoy the magical setting in the remote Arctic wilderness. Today, you’ll visit Uummannaq Island, a historic island surrounded by ancient peaks, where you’ll explore Inuit and missionary burial sites, and enjoy hot-smoked fish prepared over an open fire.

Explore the fjords, hike in the area or perhaps adorn a dry-suit and take a plunge into the icy fjord waters followed by a dip in the camp’s hot tub with glacier fed waters and magical views in all directions. Later, gather by the open fire and share memories from the day’s events under the serenity of the Arctic night.

Join an activity and immerse yourself in Greenland’s nature. Today you can explore the camp’s surroundings, gathering Arctic herbs, berries and mushrooms to create jams or teas. Perhaps combine a kayaking tour, paddling through the calm waters to harvest mussels and fish for cod, then cook your catch over an open flame on a secluded shore. Or if you prefer to stay on the ground, hike to Eagle Mountain on a moderate trail through tundra landscapes for panoramic fjord views.

In the evening, relax around the fire and reflect on your day with a well-deserved drink and enjoy a gourmet-style meal in the dining tent. The perfect way to end a magical day!
Begin the day with a two-hour zodiac boat trip through the serene Arctic waters, gliding past towering icebergs and breathtaking views as you make your way back to Nuuk. Check-in to your accommodation at Hotel Hans Egede if the room is available. If not, you can leave the luggage and take a stroll in Nuuk first. The afternoon is free for you to explore Greenland’s capital at your leisure. The guide and hotel reception will be only too happy to make suggestions on where to visit. In the evening, dine in the hotel’s restaurant or head out into the town and enjoy some local hospitality.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nuuk airport for the onward flight.
