The fjords of the Lyngen Alps turn a glassy blue colour as winter draws in. By now the snow line has moved from the peaks to the shores and covered the landscape in a thick white blanket of snow. The Lyngen Alps cover a vast area of Arctic Norway, yet much of this snow remains untouched except for the odd lonely track left by a Nordic skier or arctic animal.
For a privileged few travellers, the endlessly beautiful and remote terrain of the Lyngen Alps could also be yours to enjoy. Here you will find the cosy Arctic Panorama Lodge, where guests enjoy a personal service and access to several thrilling winter adventures. With little or no light pollution, the Northern Lights are often seen in their full glory in the night skies above the lodge. An inclusive stay here offers adventure, relaxation and a chance to leave normal life behind – completely!

You will be collected from Tromso in the afternoon for a transfer to the Arctic Panorama Lodge, located on the island Uløya in the eastern part of Lyngenfjord. The journey takes just over 3 hours and offers the perfect chance to acclimatise to the stunning Arctic scenery.
You’ll have time to settle into your accommodation. With just six rooms and six suites in total, you will be among a small group of travellers. The lodge makes full use of its position overlooking the surrounding fjord and mountains. The wide panoramic window opens up to stunning scenery, and ample chances to enjoy the view by day, when elk and reindeer can wander past or occasionally whales can be seen in the fjord, or at night, when the Aurora comes out to play.In the evening, enjoy storytelling around a campfire in a traditional teepee style tent used by the Sámi people. Here you’ll get a chance to learn about the rich culture of northern Norway and the Sámi culture with help from a native guide who provides an insight into the way of life of living in the north as a reindeer herder.
Embark on an epic journey into the Arctic wilderness with your own team of Alaskan huskies. Lose yourself in the most spectacular views and experience both the joy and challenge of working with husky dogs as you lead them through the snowy terrain. This guided dog sled ride will take you off the beaten track and bring you face to face with one of Europe’s last great tracts of unspoilt wilderness, either as a passenger or driver. At the beginning of the tour, you'll be acquainted with the dogs. Your guide will give you instructions on how to drive the sleds. You will learn how to harness the dogs, before leading them to their sleds and teams. On your return, you’ll walk them back into their homes and feed them.
Please note: the dog-sledding activity is subject to suitable snow conditions. If there is insufficient snow, our partner will endeavour to offer an alternative tour by wagon rather than sled.
