ITINERARY

From Rovaniemi airport or the city centre, you will be met and transferred to Silver Birch Resort, approximately a 25 minute drive away. The remote location on the end of a private peninsula is a world away from the busy town, offering breathtaking views over the frozen lake and nestled in the forest. 

Settle in to your cabin accommodation and get acquainted with the surroundings before enjoying the evening meal.

In the evening, you can take part in an Optional activity, either ski trekking or snowshoeing under the Northern Lights, taking you out into the pristine wilderness in search of clear skies and the magical aurora. The duration for both activities is 3 hours 30 minutes.

Arctic Restaurant:

The restaurant is exclusive for resort guests only. Our holiday package is based on a full-board basis with some lunches taken while out on daily adventures. In the evening there is a set menu with different options - the resort prefers you to choose your dinner selection before arrival, but don’t worry, if you change your mind you can choose again from the menu.

Come and meet one of the most iconic animals in Lapland. You will transfer to a reindeer farm located on the shores of a peaceful lake, where you will learn about these amazing arctic animals and the culture and traditions of the Sami people. If you're lucky you may have the chance to help feed them. You also have the opportunity to drive a sleigh on a short ride of about 400 metres.

One of the most popular winter activities and one not to be missed is a Husky Safari. You are transferred to a local Husky Kennel where you are given safety instructions and information on how to drive your own dog-sled team. When ready, you'll drive in pairs, one driving and one a passenger, swapping drivers on route. Then head off along the snowy trails on a thrilling ride through the forests and on the frozen lakes. After the sledding, you can relax and spend some time cuddling the friendly dogs, learning more about them.

The location of the tour is determined by weather conditions and the forecast for Northern Lights sightings. The professional guide will monitor the solar activity and adjust the tour to give you the best opportunity for observing the aurora. During this 4 hour trip, you may visit up to 3 different locations to maximise the chances.
 
The excursion also gives you the opportunity to drive through the Arctic nature, enjoying fantastic scenery along the way. A stop is made for refreshments by a campfire, the guide will show you how to make a fire using traditional methods, then once the fire is burning and the kettle boiling, don't forget to keep an eye out for the magical aurora.

This day-trip is split into two parts. The journey begins with a scenic drive to Korouoma Canyon, a spectacular 30 km long canyon known for its towering cliffs and high waterfalls. On arrival, the expert guide will lead you on a short hike, soaking in the peaceful beauty of this nature reserve to a frozen waterfall, creating a magical backdrop for a unique experience.
 
The next stop takes you to the picturesque Auttikongas Nature Trail, where a short walk leads you to a charming wooden bridge, from where you can see the magnificent Auttikongas Waterfall. After the visit, you'll enjoy a barbecue lunch around a campfire, with the guide sharing stories about the region.
