Enjoy a fun and scenic rafting trip down the Hvítá River, located in Iceland’s Golden Circle region. This half-day tour combines gentle rapids with calm stretches, making it suitable for first-time rafters and families with children aged 11 and up. The route winds through beautiful canyon scenery, with the option to jump from a riverside cliff for those feeling adventurous.
The experience begins at Drumbó River Base, where participants are provided with all necessary gear, including a wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, and paddle. Professional guides lead the way, offering safety instructions before heading out on the 7km river journey. After the rafting, you can relax in the on-site hot tubs and sauna, with the option to enjoy a meal at the base.
This private SuperJeep day tour explores Iceland’s stunning South Coast, taking in some of the areas most affected by the 2010 eruption of the now dormant Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Highlights include the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where a path allows you to walk behind the cascade, and the powerful Skógafoss nearby. The journey continues past black sand beaches pounded by Atlantic waves and bird cliffs that come alive in spring and summer, especially around the coastal village of Vík. On the return, the route passes through Hveragerði, a town known for its geothermal activity and greenhouse horticulture.
The tour typically lasts between 7–10 hours and is available year-round. Travel is by SuperJeep and you can choose your preferred departure time, with a 9:00 start recommended.
Icelandic weather can be unpredictable, often bringing all four seasons in a single day, so layered, waterproof clothing and sturdy walking shoes are essential. The tour includes a private driver-guide, transport in the selected vehicle, and personalised service throughout the day.
Today you'll enjoy an experience of a lifetime on a guided snorkelling adventure between the tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park today. Silfra is a fissure created by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This remarkable crack between two tectonic plates continuously fills with glacial water that has been trickling through underground lava for approximately 30 years. This natural filtering system allows for over 100 meters visibility and makes it among the clearest bodies of water on the planet.
The highly trained instructors will first dress you in an undergarment and dry suit. After suiting up, your guide will lead you through the four parts of the Silfra fissure. As the glacial water finally reaches Silfra it creates a very slight and comfortable current and all you need to do is allow yourself to float downstream. Because of the water's clarity, this floating may feel in fact more like flying. You will spend about 30-40 minutes snorkelling through Silfra. After a short walk back to the parking lot, hot chocolate and cookies will be waiting for you.
Please be sure to bring a pair of long underwear and two pairs of thick wool socks to make sure that you stay comfortably warm in the 2°C water. Your hands and face will come into direct contact with the water, but the rest of you should stay dry. If the weather is less than favourable, no worries, this company has a "changing room" on wheels for you to take shelter in while changing. This is truly an otherworldly experience; the near-freezing water, astonishing colours, and sensations of flying provide a unique environment for liquid meditation that you will never forget.
Please note: you will need to have read, signed and followed directions on the online Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement and have the Snorkeling Medical form signed off by a doctor if you are aged 60 years or over. You will need to sign a liability release form at the start of the tour.
Participants must be a minimum of 150cm/maximum of 200 cm in height, weigh a minimum of 45kg/maximum 120kg. Participants must be a minimum age of 12 years and weigh a minimum of 45kg (99lbs). You must be able to swim and have a good physical fitness.
Nestled in the breath-taking hills and valleys surrounding the village of Vík in South Iceland, your ziplining adventure begins. You will meet at the base in Vík, then take a short five-minute drive followed by a gentle five-minute hike to the first zipline, Little Rush. Here, you will be provided with detailed safety instructions and made sure you are comfortable and ready to go. Before you know it, you'll be soaring over a beautiful canyon, your heart racing as you get a stunning bird's-eye view of the landscape below.
After that thrilling start, your adventure continues with three more unique ziplines. Just around the corner is the longest and most picturesque line, The Gentle Giant, which stretches for 240 meters. Following a scenic 10-minute hike through the remarkable Grafargil canyon, you'll tackle the short but surprising Leap of Faith. Finally, you'll experience Big Rush, a ride that takes you over the spectacular Hundafoss waterfall. To round off the trip, a short hike back to base may be an option, depending on the weather.
This one-hour horse riding tour takes you along the striking black sands near the village of Vík, offering a peaceful and scenic experience suitable for both beginners and confident riders. Starting just a few minutes from the coast, you'll ride a sure-footed Icelandic horse along the shoreline with views of sea cliffs, distant rock formations, and, in summer, the chance to spot puffins overhead.
Before setting off, you’ll be matched with a horse that suits your level of experience and given a short safety briefing. The ride is mostly at walking pace, with an opportunity to try the unique tölt – a smooth gait characteristic of Icelandic horses. Small group sizes mean a relaxed pace and more attention from your guide.
Riders must be at least 10 years old and under 100kg, and helmets are provided. A shorter family tour is also available for younger children. This is a memorable and gentle way to experience the beauty of Iceland’s south coast.
