ITINERARY

Arrive at Nuuk Airport and make your way into the city by taxi—easily found at the airport taxi rank. Your accommodation for the next five nights is in a centrally located hotel, such as Hotel Hans Egede, offering quiet surroundings and private en-suite rooms with breakfast included.

Once checked in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and get your bearings in Greenland’s compact and colourful capital.

Start the day with a guided two-hour city walk through Nuuk’s historic centre. Meet your guide on location and begin with a visit to the National Museum, where artefacts span Greenland’s many cultures and centuries. From there, the walking tour heads into the colonial harbour area, where buildings date back up to 300 years. You’ll pass old whaling equipment, Hans Egede’s House, and key landmarks such as the Mother of the Sea sculpture and Hans Egede statue.

Continue past the local open-air market and the Greenlandic Parliament before ending the walk at Katuaq, Nuuk’s striking Culture House. The rest of the afternoon is free for shopping or relaxing at your own pace.

Spend your day at leisure before heading out for a late-night adventure. Make your way by taxi to the meeting point for a 22:30 departure on a two-hour midnight cruise into Nuuk’s fiord. The route may vary depending on conditions, but you’ll be on the lookout for icebergs, waterfalls and possible wildlife as you glide through the calm evening waters.

At midnight, raise a toast to "Maliina"—the Greenlandic name for the sun in local folklore. With the sky still glowing, the cruise offers a rare perspective on Greenland’s natural beauty under the midnight sun.

Today begins with a 9:00 departure for a six-hour "Catch & Eat" experience. After a short taxi ride, meet your guide and board a boat for a journey into Nuuk’s surrounding fiords. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to fish for local species such as cod or redfish. Your destination is Qooqqut, home to a remote restaurant tucked beneath a giant mountain.

Here, your fresh catch will be prepared by the chef using a mix of local produce and global flavours. If you don’t catch a fish, don’t worry—there’s a menu to choose from, but the freshly caught option is highly recommended.

This is your free day to explore Nuuk at your own pace or opt into one of the available tours. You might choose a whale safari where sightings are so reliable that a second tour is offered free of charge if no whales are spotted.

Alternatively, consider a guided kayak tour along the coastline for a different perspective of Nuuk’s scenic setting. Whatever you decide, the day is yours to enjoy.

Check out and make your way to the airport by taxi for your return journey. Be sure to allow at least two hours for check-in before your flight.
