Sitting on the edge of two river systems and vast forests, the hotel is the perfect hideaway for classic Canadian adventures. Today you have the option to be as active or relaxed as you wish. For the more active, the lodge offers canoeing and kayaking, guided hiking and nature walks and wild river swimming. Alternatively unwind in the forest bathing, join a cooking class, relax in the outdoor barrel sauna and wood-fired hot tub or simply relax in front of a roaring fire amidst wilderness splendour.

Join an expert guide this evening for an interpretive stargazing excursion in the peaceful forest air. Trout Point Lodge was awarded the world’s first Starlight Hotel accreditation in 2014 and is among the best places for astronomical observations in North America. The lodge has been designed to take advantage of its remote setting, offering guided trips and a stargazing deck, where guests can enjoy the dark and clear night skies.

Day 3:

Following a nourishing breakfast, join a lodge team member for a short guided hike of the surrounding wilds. Learn about the history of the Tobeatic Forest, the wild produce used in the kitchen and local wildlife, including the mighty moose. After the short guided hike, choose to venture by yourself allowing one of the many trails that criss-cross the 100 acre grounds of the wilderness resort.

The lodge is an acclaimed destination for Forest Bathing, a Japanese technique of self care, featuring pristine Arcadian Forest ecology. A Forest Bathing experience involves visiting a forest for relaxation and recreation while breathing in the fresh forest air filled with organic compounds derived from trees. Disconnect from the outside world, feel the pebbles under your feet, learn about local ecology and detoxify. Complement this peaceful excursion with a forest-side massage or foraging walks for edible treats from the woods.

The inviting waters of the river are best enjoyed with a visit to the outdoor, wooden hot tub. Jump in the fresh, pristine waters for a wild swim before relaxing in the riverside wood fired hot tub or the barrel sauna.
