Day 1

Upon your arrival, you will meet your taxi driver who will take you to your accommodation. The drive takes roughly 1.5 hours, and upon arrival, you will be able to check into your Standard or Superior Room at Abisko Mountain Lodge. Here, you will also pick up your Winter Kit Hire and have the opportunity to explore a bit onsite before enjoying a three-course dinner.

Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure, while keeping an eye out for the aurora from the property.

Day 2

Make the most of your day with an action-packed 2-hour snowmobile ride followed by an unforgettable aurora photo adventure.

Begin with a thrilling ride on a state-of-the-art eco-friendly snowmobile. After a brief safety and driving instruction, you will set off from the nearby village of Björkliden, where perfect snow conditions and stunning views await. A short climb will take you to a frozen lake, offering some breath taking scenery. You will take a break to enjoy some hot drinks and a snack while soaking in the views and listening to the guide's stories about the area.

As the day changes to night, you will join an expert aurora guide for a chance to witness and photograph the aurora borealis. Abisko's clear skies make it one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights. You will be provided with a DSLR camera and lens preset for capturing the auroras, along with a quick lesson on how to find and photograph this natural wonder (SD cards an be purchased locally).

The Ultimate Aurora Photo Adventure offers three ways to chase the northern lights: on foot to a nearby teepee, in a modern 4×4 van, or in a cosy sleigh pulled by a snowmobile to one of our wilderness camps around Abisko National Park - the best option is decided on the evening depending on the weather and aurora forecast.
