At this wilderness retreat in Finnish Lapland, the family's beloved husky farm is at the heart of the experience. After many years of successful dog-sledding, the family built an upscale lodge where adults-only can spend their winter break enjoying outdoor adventures by day and the chance to relax and search the Northern Lights by night.  Their pack of husky dogs offer sledding experiences of the highest quality among trees heavy with snow and frozen lakes during the winter months. This short break can be tailored to suit your travel dates and choice of adventures.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY

WHAT, WHERE & WHEN

DAY 1:

Arrival to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland. If you’d like to explore the city, home to the Santa Village, we’d recommend spending the first night at the boutique Arctic Lights Hotel. It is also possible to travel directly to the lodging if you prefer.

Staying at: Beana Laponia Lodge

DAY 2:

Today you’ll transfer to Beana Laponia, a journey of just over 45 minutes taking you away from the city to a perfect Arctic wilderness retreat. The 11 rooms at the lodge are themed on the family’s beloved husky dogs and feature clean, Nordic design. The lodge has a restaurant serving high quality buffet-style meals using local ingredients from the Lapland larder. An outdoor hot tub and sauna complete the Finnish experience. During your stay you’ll have free access to toboggans, kick sleds and snow shoes to help you explore the surrounding forests and trails.

DAY 3:

Today will be spent with Beana Laponia’s wonderful husky dogs as you depart into the white wilderness. There are different lengths of tours available depending on your preferences and availability. We’d recommend the full day tour for a chance to unleash your inner musher! You will have your own team of huskies leading them for over 40km through pristine forests and over frozen lakes. A simple but tasty lunch will be served around the camp fire before you return to the lodge in the afternoon. The dogs and driver will both be tired but satisfied with a day in the fresh winter air.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, it is time to return to Rovaniemi for your onward travel plans. Alternatively we can extend your stay at the lodge or in the city itself. Get in touch with our team for a customized itinerary.
