Arrive at Copenhagen Airport and transfer to 71 Nyhavn, your hotel perfectly situated in the heart of the city. This central spot is ideal for exploring, whether you're drawn to the historic streets of Indre By, the stylish neighborhood of Vesterbro, or the charming canal district itself.
Once you’ve checked in and taken some time to refresh, head out for a walk along the Nyhavn harbor. The colorful buildings and old wooden ships offer one of the city’s most iconic backdrops. For dinner, settle into a traditional Danish restaurant nearby—seafood is a popular choice here, and many places offer cozy waterside tables. If time allows, a canal tour is a lovely way to get a first glimpse of the city as the lights begin to glow.
Start your day with a visit to Amalienborg Palace, where you might catch the Changing of the Guard. From here, stroll along the waterfront to see the famous Little Mermaid statue before heading inland to explore the gardens and royal treasures at Rosenborg Castle.
In the afternoon, Copenhagen invites you to see its modern side. If you’re interested in history, the National Museum offers a wide-ranging look at Danish culture through the ages. Round off the day with dinner in one of Copenhagen’s many neighbourhoods—perhaps in Nørrebro, where the food scene blends traditional Danish dishes with global influence. Tivoli Gardens, if open during your visit, is a charming way to end the evening.
After breakfast in Copenhagen, return to the airport for a short domestic flight to Bornholm. On arrival, pick up your rental car—ideal for exploring the island at your own pace—and head to your hotel in one of Bornholm’s welcoming towns such as Rønne, Gudhjem, Svaneke or Allinge.
Once settled, begin your exploration with a visit to Hammershus Castle Ruins. This hilltop fortress is the largest of its kind in Northern Europe and offers sweeping views across the island’s rugged north coast. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner back in town, where smoked herring and other local dishes are often on the menu. A quiet walk along the shore is the perfect way to wind down the day.
Today is yours to uncover the many layers of Bornholm. Start with a drive to the island’s unique round churches—these striking white-washed buildings once served both spiritual and defensive roles. From there, continue to Gudhjem, a postcard-pretty fishing village with cobbled streets, harbourside cafés and artisan smokehouses.
In the afternoon, delve into the island’s creative scene. Visit working glassblowing studios or stop by the Bornholm Art Museum, which showcases a mix of local talent and broader Danish works. If time allows, make your way to the Helligdomsklipperne cliffs nearby for a scenic walk with panoramic sea views. As evening falls, enjoy a final dinner on the island, perhaps in a characterful inn or contemporary bistro known for using local produce. It’s a chance to reflect on the slower pace and beauty of island life.
