REMOTE ICE ADVENTURE
Arctic ice fields and artistic creativity combine at the ICEHOTEL in the village of Jukkasjärvi, in Swedish Lapland. Recrafted every year using ice from the nearby Torne River, this world famous hotel is a memorable gateway to wilderness adventure under the Aurora Borealis.
Guests choose from cold rooms in winter or warm rooms all year round. Ice Rooms offer ice decor and an ice bed, while Art Suites are unique ice rooms, hand-carved by international artists. Warm standard and superior rooms and chalets have modern Scandinavian decor.
The dining room and cocktail bar is warm and traditional, serving local delicacies like reindeer, moose, Arctic char, and bramble berries. Guests can choose from an à la carte menu, or book a special chef’s table, ice dining, or wilderness dinner experience.
Depending on the time of year, guests can go dog sledding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, or horseback riding, meet reindeer and moose, hike in Europe’s oldest primeval forest, and marvel as the Arctic skies display the Aurora Borealis or the Midnight Sun.
Relax in the shared sauna, treat yourself to a massage, or experience the full Jukkasjärvi Sauna Ritual, which includes trying everything from the sauna, washing yourself with tar soap, taking a plunge into Torne River, and sinking into pleasure in the outdoor hot tubs.
