Stunning Log Cabins
Set away from the resort, you have the best of both worlds. A secluded wilderness setting to enjoy the tranquillity of your snowy surroundings, and yet close enough to Ruka so you can take part in the ski activities and action if you wish. Situated by beautiful Lake Salonkijärvi, sits this private resort in the middle of Lappish nature. The high quality log cabin accommodation is nicely spread throughout the grounds, offering guests privacy and seclusion. Traditional in style, each cabin is well-equipped and can sleep from 6 to 16 guests. Recently added to the resort are the Veskaranta Sky View Villas - modern in style with a private sauna and skylights in the bedrooms showcasing the wonders of the northern sky from your bed. The resort has two restaurants, sauna experiences and a good selection of winter activities which can be pre-booked. There is a regular ski-bus which runs between the resort and Ruka centre for those wishing to enjoy time on the slopes.
Sleep Well
Each log cabin is well furnished throughout, with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, fireplace and comfortable bedrooms, some even have their own private sauna to relax and warm up after a day in the snow. With plenty of space, the cabins are an ideal choice for rest, relaxation and spending time with loved ones. The cabins come in different sizes, sleeping from 6 to 16 guests, making them a great choice for couples, families and larger groups. In addition to the traditional log cabins there are also the Veskaranta Sky View Villas, more modern in style, each sleeping four persons and with a private sauna.
Eat Well
We have included a half-board basis during your stay, with a wide selection of breakfast options available from the buffet. In the evening Restaurant Kultala offers a dinner buffet made from local ingredients and includes a choice of starters, one main course and dessert with soft drinks available. The resort also has a high quality restaurant in the village, called Rukan Kuksa, offering authentic taste experiences using the best local ingredients.
Play Well
Ruka is Finland’s largest ski resort with plenty of different slopes for all levels of skier. You can purchase lift passes, ski school if required and any equipment from the rental shops in the resort, and spend as much or as little time on the slopes as you wish. But of course, no trip to the Arctic region is complete without trying the other thrilling winter activities which can be pre-booked and taken from Rukan Salonki. There are different snowmobile safaris to choose from, Husky sledding, snowshoeing adventures, visiting a reindeer farm, Ice fishing and several Northern Lights safaris. We highly recommend these are booked in advance to guarantee availability. Please note, each activity operates on set days and times so please bear in mind when planning your trip.
