Remote Arctic Wilderness Lodge sits on the banks of the Alta River in Norway’s high Arctic Finnmark Plateau. It offers year-round premium accommodation together with a panoramic view lounge and fine dining restaurant. During the winter months the lodge supplements the iconic Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel with seasonal offerings including winter activities, sleeping on ice and the elusive Northern Lights. Throughout spring, summer and autumn you can enjoy the quality facilities at the lodge along with the Midnight Sun and a fine selection of outdoor wilderness experiences.
Sleep Well
Stays at the lodge are normally based in standard River rooms with a large scenic window and private balcony located on the ground floor of the lodge sleeping up to 2 guests. Other options include a River Suite, larger in size, with a private balcony and located on the second floor with lovely views of the Alta River, sleeping up to 3 guests. There are also the Mary Suite and King Suite, both much larger in size with lounge area and boasting magnificent views from the panoramic windows, sleeping up to 4 people.
Eat Well
The Maku Restaurant in the Lodge offers a fantastic culinary experience whilst overlooking the Alta River and Arctic wilderness. The fine dining menu changes depending on the season and brings the finest ingredients from nature’s larder, where the talented chefs create a feast before your eyes from the open kitchen. Meals here are normally based on the 3-course offering, but you have the choice to upgrade to a 5-course or 8-course option. There are wine packages also available to match the menus.
Play Well
Spring, summer and autumn open up new possibilities to enjoy the open wilderness from the lodge. Exploits can include Riverboat experiences, King Crab fishing, Visiting the Husky kennels and Husky carting, Sami Culture experiences, Hiking trips, Private outdoor jacuzzi and sauna and searching for the Northern Lights during the autumn and winter months.
