The Floating Spa Hotel Sweden

Author: Elin
Location: Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden

Rumor has it that an exciting new spa hotel is about to open near Lulea in northern Sweden hailing in a new generation of innovative accommodation that Swedish entrepreneurs have become famous for (think ICEHOTEL, treehotel previously). The latest one called Arctic Bath will be a floating spa hotel on the Luleå river. In the summer, the spa hotel will float on the surface of the water and in the winter season as the river begins to freeze, the hotel will be locked into position in the ice. This unique accommodation floats in a circular shape which provides the guests with shelter from the Arctic wind. The location planned is a prime spot to gaze at the magical Northern Lights.

This Swedish experience will truly be unique with a chance to enjoy a dip in the open bath in the centre of the hotel designed for sunbathing and ice-bathing. The Arctic Bath is inspired by the timber floating era. The bath will be kept at a refreshing 4 degrees and for those who wish to enjoy the view of the northern lights can do so from the comfort of the bath. If the bath isn't for you, the decking area will be a great place to stay warm and enjoy the sun and the views. You can also get spa treatments, stay hot in the sauna or make a visit to the resturant and bar. The Arctic Bath is also ideal for smaller group events. Complete the experience with an overnight stay in one of the floating hotel rooms and participate in an exciting winter or summer activity.

The floating hotel will be ready in 2018 (please get in touch with us to register your interest) but until then check out our top 3 recommendations for spa breaks.
