Arctic adventure meets rustic luxury at Wilderness Hotel Nangu, next to Lake Inari in Finnish Lapland. Decorated to reflect the Sami culture, this family-owned hotel offers guests amazing access to the vast forests and lakes of the Vatsari wilderness, with a Lappish twist. Superior rooms feature a panorama window facing Lake Inari, while wilderness rooms are decorated in rustic Lappish style. Log cabins offer guests a private sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, and the Aurora cabin has a partial glass roof for watching the Aurora Borealis.Breakfast and lunch buffets, and full service dinners are served in the lodge’s spacious restaurant. Dishes are inspired by traditional Lappish cuisine and include local food, such as reindeer meat, fish from Lake Inari, mushrooms, and berries. Wilderness Hotel Nangu is an adult only destination (18+ years old) during the winter months, perfect for couples, friends, or individuals looking to escape the pressures of everyday life.
Embrace a slower pace with a gentle guided snowshoe walk through the snowy surroundings. With only the crunch of snow underfoot, this is a perfectly peaceful way to enjoy this beautiful landscape. Throughout the trek, your guide will share interesting stories and information about Finnish nature and wildlife.
Venture out after dark to explore the snow-clad surroundings of Nangu, all while seated comfortably in a sledge pulled by the guide's snowmobile. Enjoy the Arctic by night as you travel through the silent landscape to the wilderness camp on the frozen Lake Inari, well away from any artificial light pollution. You'll be greeted with an open fire to keep you warm as you enjoy a hot drink and hopefully a chance to view the magical Northern Lights.
