ITINERARY

WHAT, WHERE & WHEN

DAY 1:

Arrival to Ivalo Airport and transfer to the village Inari where your Northern Lights adventure begins. The transfer time is approximately 25 minutes.

You'll settle into your comfortable hotel accommodation at Hotel Kultahovi located in the centre of the village. Your Arctic clothing package will await your arrival. Dinner will be served in the hotel's popular restaurant. The menu features local ingredients and will offer you your first taste of Arctic Finland.

Staying at: Hotel Kultahovi

DAY 2:

After a buffet breakfast, you have the option to join an Arctic adventure. Choose from activities such as dog-sledding, snow mobiling, snow shoeing, skiing, reindeer sledding and more. We'll provide you with a list of optional adventures to choose from to tailor your stay.

After dinner, it's time to pack an overnight bag, and meet your host Esko who will drive you to your overnight accommodation - a unique Aurora Cabin. From here Esko will help you to decide where best to stay on Lake Inari - perhaps somewhere remote and quiet, or perhaps the best location that night to view the Northern Lights. The cabin is on skis and will be attached to Esko's snow mobile and driven out to the chosen spot. You can also relax in Esko's mobile hot tub and sauna during your overnight adventure (supplementary cost). Enjoy the silence and seclusion of the Arctic surroundings and with luck the view from your bed will be of the Northern Lights!

Staying at: Mobile Aurora Cabins

DAY 3:

After a good night's sleep, Esko will collect you and transfer you back to your hotel accommodation where breakfast and a hot shower await. You'll return with stories of your night on Lake Inari. The day is at leisure. Perhaps you'll visit Inari's Siida museum telling the story of Arctic Finland, or perhaps you'll opt for a winter excursion. It is also possible to arrange Northern Lights tours this evening - by snow mobile, snow shoe or a hunt by car. Our team will be delighted to let you know the options on offer.

Staying at: Hotel Kultahovi

DAY 4:

After breakfast, transfer to the airport or alternatively why not extend your Northern Lights holiday with extra nights.

Mobile Cabin Break on Lake Inari

5/5

We had an amazing time in Inari and in the mobile cabin. Esko is a really lovely host and the cabin was well equipped and lovely and warm. The hot tub was so much more than we expected - attached to a sauna, so we had use of both and it was amazing. If anything, a little too hot (got too hot and burned so didn't use as much as we had hoped). Unfortunately we didn't see the lights, too cloudy but it was still an amazing trip and it will just make us return again. We found some lovely walking tracks through the forest and by the river which was very picturesque and well signposted. It would perhaps be useful in future to let people know about the strict alcohol laws in Finland, being a 'big' birthday, I tried to buy a bottle of champagne at Helsinki airport but you cannot buy at duty free for an internal flight - pack your own! Although Inari has 2 supermarkets, they do not sell champagne, or even wine!!!
