Wilderness Hotel Nellim is a family run hotel in Finnish Lapland, owned by family Lappalainen. The lodge was established in 2004 and the buildings have been restored into cosy hotel rooms and suites inspired by the surrounding nature and Sami culture. The hotel is sits amidst beautiful and unique Finnish landscape close to the shore of the expansive Lake Inari. The lodge restaurant is decorated in the same wilderness spirit and serves local food such as reindeer meat, fish from Lake Inari, mushrooms and wild berries. There are also cosy living-room style areas for guests to relax in. Activities and excursions start from the lodge’s doorstep.
Enjoy a day outdoors and the chance to learn about the local culture and history through the lens of a local Sami family. The day begins with a guided snowmobile safari to the reindeer farm. The Sami reindeer herder will welcome you and show you to the reindeer enclosure. The guide will tell you more about the Sami culture and the life of a reindeer herder. You'll have the chance to feed the reindeer - the curious animals might even come up and eat out of your hand! You'll then enjoy lunch by the open fire, comfortably seated on reindeer hides. We will also visit Nellim church during the day. Drivers must be at least 18 years of age, with a driving licence valid in Finland. (single drive available with supplementary charge)
