Arctic Wildlife Experiences: Where to See Polar Bears, Whales and Brown Bears
It is safe to say that Arctic wildlife experiences are a big part of travelling to our more…
Read moreA Finland adventure holiday can be demanding, gentle or somewhere between the two. Cross a frozen lake behind a husky team, cycle between islands in the Turku Archipelago or spend a night in a forest hide, waiting for bears to appear in the evening light.
The meaning of adventure changes with the seasons. Winter brings snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and long nights beneath the Arctic sky. In summer, lakes, forests and coastal routes open up for paddling, hiking, cycling and wildlife watching.
We shape each journey around your interests, experience and preferred pace, with guided activities that can be balanced with independent days, comfortable accommodation and time to enjoy the sauna.
These suggested itineraries can be tailored to you. Ask us to add activities, change pacing, or upgrade lodges.

From December to April, Finnish Lapland offers reliable winter conditions for husky sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The long evenings also create opportunities to look for the Northern Lights.
From May to October, Finland’s forests, lakes and islands are better explored on foot, by bicycle or from the water. Summer brings exceptionally long days, while early autumn offers quieter trails and forests turning copper and gold.
Bear-watching holidays generally operate from May to September. Cycling journeys through the Turku Archipelago are usually best between late May and August, when seasonal ferries make island hopping possible.
Finnish Lapland is the natural choice for winter adventure holidays. Travel across snowy fells and frozen lakes by husky sled or snowmobile, then return each evening to the warmth of a wilderness lodge or cabin.
Finnish Lakeland offers a gentler style of adventure. Paddle across clear water, cycle along forest roads and swim from the shore before warming up in a lakeside sauna.
Wild Taiga, in eastern Finland, is known for its forests and wildlife. Bear watching, nature photography, canoeing and guided hiking can be combined, with nights spent in purpose-built hides deep in the forest.
The Turku Archipelago suits travellers who enjoy exploring independently. Quiet roads, bridges and small ferries connect islands, harbour villages and coastal hotels, creating one of Finland’s most rewarding cycling routes.
Accommodation is selected not only for comfort, but for the access it gives you to the landscape. In Lapland, wilderness hotels, traditional log cabins and glass-roofed rooms place winter activities close at hand.
Summer journeys may include lakeside cabins, forest lodges and small island hotels. On cycling holidays through the Turku Archipelago, each overnight stop forms part of the route. Wildlife stays in eastern Finland take you closer to the forests and hides used for bear watching.
Some itineraries remain in one base, giving you time to settle into the surroundings. Others move between regions or islands. We arrange the accommodation, luggage transfers and connections so each stage follows naturally from the last.
Winter activities can include husky sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, reindeer encounters, ice fishing and guided Northern Lights excursions.
During the warmer months, explore by kayak, canoe, bicycle or e-bike. Hiking, wild swimming and wildlife watching can also be included, alongside specialist bear-watching and photography experiences in eastern Finland.
Not every day needs a full programme. We select activities for their quality and suitability, balancing guided adventure with independent exploration, good food and time to recover between more active days.
