Northern Lights Short Break in Tromsø and the Snow Hotel

Once seen, never forgotten. The world's wonder, the Aurora Borealis, is a show to remember, forever. Travelling to the high latitudes offers an exciting introduction to the Arctic and the chance to view this awesome spectacle. At 69° North, Tromsø is the largest of Norway’s northern cities. From here we offer a short break package combined with a stay in one of the Arctic Snow Hotels. All our holidays include an evening excursion with an experienced guide who'll take you away from the bright lights of the city and to the spot where you're most likely to view the lights that night.

Itinerary:

This short break works best when you choose the elements that suit you. So get in touch and we’ll put together your holiday itinerary based on the time you have in the Arctic, and the accommodation and activities of your choosing. We also offer Northern Lights gift packs to present to your loved one on a special occasion.

You'll travel either by bus, boat or airplane between Tromsø and the snow hotel depending on your preferred itinerary. We'll be happy to put together a proposal that reflects your wishes.

The snow hotels

The temperatures inside the snow hotels remain constant between minus 4 and minus 7. You’ll snuggle up below natural reindeer-hides, "mattresses" and sleeping-bags for a night to remember. The hotels are made from snow and ice - right down to the glasses in the bar. Artists finish off the magical atmosphere with their creations of ice sculptures throughout the hotel. On clear winter nights the Northern Lights can be seen dancing in the night skies.
