Nature Nurture: Cardigan Bay for families

Children of the North can come too with this special tailor-made holiday on the Welsh coast. Enter the gates of the ‘camp’ and your young ones have space and time to enjoy nature at its best and most accessible. We say ‘camp’, but you don’t have to go near a tent as you’ll stay in specially converted crog-lofts – tiny farm buildings with space to live and play. You’ll have the comfort of a warm cosy bed at night and the pleasure of sharing breakfast on the terrace. We’ll create a week that your children will enjoy and cherish. They’ll remember the small things like the moth in the candlelight, or the frog that hopped into their canoe. Parents will breath deeply and joyfully at the freedom of nature and the activities on offer.

Itinerary:

This holiday is a special tailor made treat. You can join us as a single family or as a group of families. We’ll listen to you and arrange your holiday for you. All you have to do is arrive! Below are some suggestions of activities – the price will depend on the number of days and activities you choose.

Day one

Arrive as the sun sets over Wales. Settle into your crogloft with a cup of something hot while the children explore the surrounds. Join other ‘campers’ at the communal lodge for a home-cooked meal. Have a deep sleep under the reindeer hides.

Day two

Wake up to a delicious hamper of breakfast goodies delivered to your door. Put the coffee on and share a leisurely breakfast on the porch. Take out the bicycles and begin to explore the farm and beyond. Pack a picnic to enjoy by the river. In the evening, share stories around the campfire and enjoy a beer from the bar in the crofter’s cottage.

Day three

Don’t just look at the landscape, eat it too. Today you’ll join a local expert and forage the land for wild food. We’ll gather our harvest and cook a delicious meal in the evening together.

Day four

Today you’ll get active and try something new. How about canoeing, coasteering or kayaking? Our activities are aimed at all levels from beginners through to advanced. Being so close to the sea, you can’t afford to miss out on viewing the sea bird life. Take a boat out to the islands and spot some sea birds on the cliffs.

Day five

After your final breakfast in the fresh air, it’s time to say goodbye and return home full of memories of special moments in nature.
